That being said, I still think that it’s a great game. It’s a fun sandbox, but real meaningful change is always just out of reach. No matter how many settlements you build, there will still always be raiders willing to raid them. For how wonderfully presented the Commonwealth is, it’s ultimately hollow. In the months after I submitted my review, I’ve come to a much more nuanced opinion. When I first played, I was quite impressed with the scope and scale of the content. Fallout 4 was a grand endeavor, met with equal parts praise and criticism. Announced as the final piece of DLC at E3 2016, Nuka-World is the last stop in the Commonwealth. After the long lonely road that was Fallout 4, we’ve finally come to the end of the content.
